ARTISTS IN HOSPITALS empowers patients by providing unique opportunities to participate in large-scale collaborative art projects.
The Art Bus Project is about teamwork, collaboration, and friendship. For the Art Buses made by the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, over 60 patients provided artwork that was digitally patched together to make the final artwork which then wrapped two of Austin’s Capital Metro buses.
In November 2008, the Emmy Award winning PBS arts program InContext aired a feature on the Dell Children’s Hospital Art Bus Project, which was conceived and executed by Artists In Hospitals founder Ian Cion.
